A home from home
I have just returned from a family holiday at Tamarstone Farm where we had the cottage and the caravan. We were greeted by Colin and Janette with tea, coffee and cake which was lovely after a long journey with children! Both the cottage and the caravan can only be described as a home from home, they were beautifully decorated with everything you need inside (including some extras like a complimentary bottle of wine and eggs from their free range chickens). We had a wonderful week and couldn't have asked for more. My nephew adored seeing the chickens and cows daily and it was lovely and peaceful in the evenings! Definitely recommend it!! Thank you Colin and Janette
We went for a 2 night camping break with friends and the facilities are very clean and have been recently decorated very well and the showers were nice and warm. The toilets are kept very clean and tidy not like other sites we have stayed at. You are made to feel welcome with home made cake and tea on arrival which did not touch the sides especially after surfing all day ! The chickens are very friendly and will come up close to you they are so adorable and the owners Colin and Janette are lovely people too ! We would definitely recommend staying for a quiet break and we will definitely return next year with our camper van and our friends too. Keep up the good work you are doing an amazing job both of you. Rebecca Jason and Tara Bruno Guy Davies and Sheena James, Hampshire.
We had a lovely stay in Secret Tamarstone. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the children loved the games room and the room to roam about. We ate a ridiculous number of eggs from the hens! We would highly recommend staying here - very peaceful but a quick nip to Widemouth Bay and Bude beach. We are missing the body boarding....
What a fabulous stay at Tamarstone...!
We returned from a 4 night break at Tamarstone yesterday. We are a family of 4 with 2 young boys (an almost 3yr old and 10month old).
From the start the owners Janette and Colin were brilliant, great communication with emails answering my questions promptly, we had friends that joined us for the last 2 nights of our stay so Janette and Colin made sure they could pitch next to us. They also gave brilliant directions which meant we had no problems finding them. On arrival we were greeted by them both, given a tour of the facilities and Janette then appeared with lovely homemade cake for us all - perfect to keep the boys happy after our journey whilst we pitched our tent!
The pitches are an excellent size (our tent is quite big) and fit our tent and gazebo perfectly. The showers, toilet and washing up facilities are great, very clean (and I am very fussy!) and have a quirky beech hut decor which I loved. The games room is a great extra, the boys loved playing with the toys provided, great for rainey days! There is also a microwave and electric socket in the games room with an honesty box. On the last 2 nights I just happened to mention to Janette that I was having issues putting my 10 month to bed as he is so much more mobile now and wouldn't stay put on the air bed we had for him anymore so she very kindly lent us a travel cot and sheet which made things so much easier!
We hired a fire brazier from them and had a lovely campfire each night - perfect for those important marsh mellows!
The chickens provided great entertainment, my little boy loved them and we nick named they the 'cheeky chickens' as they were always at hand to clear up any crumbs from under the highchair!
This is a lovely campsite and I would definitely recommend for families, we will definitely be back! Colin and Janette are lovely people who work very hard to keep this campsite so well maintained - well done to you both you are doing a great job, we will look forward to seeing you again soon! Katie, Andy, William and Hugh x
Welcomed with delicious cake and refreshing drink, all the facilities were clean and well cared for (shower room, toilets, games room and sun loungers) and the chickens ranged free - which was like a home from home for me!
Beautiful campsite in a gorgeous location! Very friendly owners. We'll be back throughout the year.
